Keeping Our Pups Calm On The Fourth

Nest DC

Real Talk: We would do just about anything for our dogs. Sometimes that means desperately searching for the right solution to reduce firework-induced anxiety. For pet parents with anxious pups, July 4th is not a top-five favorite holiday- especially if you don't have an option to leave the city. The last thing a pet owner wants is to feel hopeless while your furry friend is in panic mode, which is why we compiled our go-to remedies for the firework frenzy!

1) Organize your pup’s “safe space” and ensure they have access to it. Think: a cozy spot away from windows with their favorite blanket or an open crate in the bathroom. Want to step up your calming game? Add some white noise!

2) Try a thunder shirt. It relieves general anxiety in dogs by applying a low amount of constant pressure to the abdominal area causing your furry friend to feel more secure and calm, therefore reducing anxiety!

3) If none of these solutions seem to work for your dog, CBD could be your new best friend! CBD has strong, natural calming effects that can take the edge off, allowing your dog to function and remain calmer during their least favorite day of the year.
