Wherever in the world you are, we know your property is always top of mind. We're constantly trying to think of new ways to help protect your space and offer you peace of mind. That's why we're so excited to announce the debut of Nest DC's Rent Protection Program.



As the name describes, the Rent Protection Plan offers additional security around your monthly rental payments in the event a tenant does not pay rent without a valid reason to withhold.


We know that your rental income may be an important part of your financial planning and a delay in receiving those funds could have big implications. The Rent Protection Plan is aimed to help. The bottom line? We'll cover lost rent in the event your tenant fails to pay.

The Details

  • MONTHLY COST

    $35*


  • COMMITMENT

    month-to-month, no minimum time period


  • COVERAGE

    Lost rent up to $5,000 plus $1,000 towards attorney fees (as needed)


  • DETAILS

    In the event your tenant fails to pay rent on or before the 20th of the month, you can make a claim on your Rent Protection Plan. Nest will pay the balance of the rent due at the next payment cycle (i.e. by the 15th of the following month). If the tenant continues to withhold rent, Nest will reimburse you for your monthly rent until the $5,000 limit is reached. The Plan will also cover up to $1,000 of attorney fees while eviction is being pursued.

    There may be specific scenarios in which this Plan is not applicable. The Rent Protection Plan contract outlines exactly what is/is not covered.

FAQ

  • WHEN CAN I SIGN UP?

    The Rent Protection Program is available to Nest clients as early as January 1st, 2020. If you are in the middle of a change in tenants or turnover, we will make the Program available upon a new lease signing.


  • CAN I PURCHASE MORE THAN ONE PACKAGE TO MAKE MY COVERAGE BIGGER?

    Yes! If you are concerned about covering more than the $5,000 baseline, you can purchase additional packages to increase your total coverage. Each $35/mo package covers $5,000 of lost rent.
